Amazon has decided to open up its new Seattle warehouse for Prime members, according to a new filing.
The company said it will build a facility in the center of Seattle’s waterfront in an effort to meet the growing demand for fulfillment services for the popular e-commerce platform.
The new space will house the company’s largest fulfillment facility in North America.
Amazon said the building will be the largest in the country.
Prime members will be able to choose from the company�s growing inventory of books, audio and video books, digital audio books, music and video, games, toys, toys-and-girly, home furnishings, travel, household goods and much more, according the filing.
The company said the new space is expected to open in 2020.
Amazon has been under pressure from the U.S. Postal Service and the Federal Trade Commission to build a larger fulfillment facility to meet growing demand.
Amazon is trying to lure more customers with free shipping on orders over $99 and a variety of other perks.
The Amazon Prime program has helped drive revenue for the Seattle company by as much as 70% during the past year, according forbes.com.
The filing comes as Amazon is looking to build out a logistics network in the Seattle area to compete with UPS, FedEx and other major freight carriers.
Amazon is planning to open a second logistics hub in the city in 2019.
